Meet Karen!
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Karen relocated to South Florida as a teenager. With more than two decades of experience as a Business Operations Consultant, she first became involved in Brevard County's real estate industry in 2014 through a consulting role with a local brokerage. Inspired by the dynamic nature of the field, she made a bold career shift, relocating to Brevard in 2016 and earning her Real Estate License the following year. Since then, she has pursued her real estate career full time, helping clients across a wide range of budgets and needs.
Karen thrives on the unique challenges of the real estate industry, a trait that comes as no surprise to those who know her. Born with a degenerative Hearing loss, Karen has been deaf since early adulthood. With less than 8% hearing, Karen has spent her life navigating and overcoming obstacles. Raised in the Hearing World, she learned to lip read at an early age and only began learning American Sign Language (ASL) later in life, but still continues to rely primarily on lip reading.
Her personal resilience, combined with her professional expertise and strong work ethic, enables Karen to deliver exceptional service to every client—whether they're renting their first apartment or purchasing a multi-million dollar home. She’s committed to making the real estate process as smooth and stress-free as possible, always placing her clients' needs first. It's no wonder that many of her clients become lifelong friends.
Beyond her work in real estate, Karen is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She is a passionate advocate for Canine Companions, a national service dog organization, where she was partnered with her hearing dog, Brandy. She is also actively involved with WAYS for Life, a Brevard-based nonprofit that supports teens and young adults aging out of foster care, experiencing homelessness, or navigating life without a safety net.
Karen’s dedication to both her profession and her community speaks to her core belief:
“Life is about making a difference, and I strive to impact someone's life every day. Real estate gives me that opportunity. I love helping people find the perfect home and ease what can be a daunting process. My clients are always my top priority!
“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”
Meet Brandy!
Brandy is a professionally trained Service Dog from Canine Companions, a renowned national organization celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year!
A beautiful Labrador/Golden Retriever cross, Brandy turned 5 years old on August 30, 2025. She was matched with Karen on November 2, 2022, following the retirement of beloved service dog Ninja, who was her "big brother" (though not by blood). Ninja proudly served for many years before his retirement and then crossing the Rainbow Bridge in April 2024. Brandy had some big paws to fill — and she stepped in without hesitation, continuing his legacy of love and service.
Brandy’s role is to alert Karen to important sounds in her environment, which she does by gently nudging Karen's leg and leading her to the source. She's a dedicated and intuitive partner.
She accompanies Karen most places — except when Karen is visiting clients or showing occupied homes (not everyone appreciates black dog hair!).
When off duty, Brandy enjoys relaxing, taking walks, socializing with fellow Canine Companions graduates, and, of course, getting a good belly rub!
“Helping Karen hear the world, one nudge at a time.”
